2022 Stuhlmuller Vineyards Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
A seamless expression of Russian River Valley terroir, this Pinot Noir is pure elegance. With fruit sourced from premier vineyards, including a 30+-year-old parcel originally planted by Gary Farrell and tended by the Ulises Valdez family, it’s a masterpiece of finesse and complexity.
Juicy cherries and vibrant berries meet toasty Asian spices, warm earth, and bright cranberry, all underpinned by a delicate mineral thread. Crafted with over 40 years of Sonoma pedigree, it’s an ultra-classy Pinot at an almost unbelievable value.
Decanter
The grape sources of this Pinot Noir are among some of the top sites in the Russian River Valley, but sadly cannot be named due to contractual obligations. What is clear is that it's a delicious wine, teeming with the hallmark, brooding, dark Russian River Valley cherry fruit with colas spices you want from this region, along with elegant cedarwood, clove, and allspice notes. Ample concentration on the palate layers in Bing cherry fruit framed by gentle tannins and an exceedingly long finish revealing crushed stone minerality, saline notes, dried rose petals florals, and earth. Totally satisfying right now and poised to deliver the goods for another 5 to 7 years or more.
