2022 Morlet Family Vineyards ‘En Famille’ Pinot Noir Fort Ross-Seaview
The Morlet family has grown Pinot Noir in France for generations and uses the same techniques when crafting this Sonoma Coast beauty. Intense raspberry, wild strawberry, forest floor and earthy notes (graphite), very rich and complex with a lingering leathery finish. The ‘En Famille’ Pinot Noir will age gracefully for well over a decade.
The Wine Palate
Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2022 ‘En Famille’ spills from the glass with notes of wild strawberries, cranberries, and lilacs plus nuances of moss, wet slate, and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, the red berry and earthy layers are superbly supported by fine-grained tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and savory.
Jeb Dunnuck
The 2022 ‘En Famille’ has a highly distinctive personality, with an earthy profile in the glass revealing aromas of fresh leather, porcini, dark minerals, and black raspberries. Ripe and long, it fills the palate with a plush feel, although it never gets out of balance, and it has a lovely, expansive feel, with ripe tannins. As it slowly tapers, it shows off a lightly earthy finish, but it remains clean and long.
