2021 Gary Farrell Zinfandel Grist Vineyard Dry Creek Valley
From the rugged hills of Dry Creek Valley comes a Zin that’s all precision, polish, and poise. Gary Farrell—long synonymous with Russian River elegance—shows that the team’s mastery extends beyond Pinot. Tart raspberry, sage, and cracked pepper explode from the glass before settling into a seamless wave of crushed berry, anise, and savory spice. Lively tannins and a briary lift drive the finish home.
For over 40 years, Gary Farrell Winery has been a beacon of small-lot craftsmanship. Under Winemaker Brent McKoy, who rose through the ranks from cellar foreman to head winemaker, the legacy of balance and site expression continues in every bottle.
Only a few cases make it to our cellar—stock up before it disappears into legend.
Located along a ridge top amongst the native redwoods, oaks and madrones, Gary Farrell's winery is smack dab in the middle of the Russian River Valley and nestled into one of the most magical places on earth. The winery specializes in making some of the best Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Sonoma's most recognized regions. Their winery is immaculate and ideal for serious winemaking. An array of presses, sorting tables and temperature controlled tanks mean that they have the utmost control during fermentation and winemaking. But it's not enough to be technically perfect - these guys have committed themselves to cultivating relationships with growers, vendors and customers too. A wine crafted with integrity and honesty goes a long way to make friends, don't you agree?
