2018 Ca Rome 'Rio Sordo' Barbaresco
Sourced from the “sunny-side” of the Rio Sordo cru this estate owned plot produces complex wines off the white marl soils. Notes of wild roses, violets and licorice continuing to a silky, mouth-filling and structured palate. The Marengo family considers it one of their very finest efforts. We think of it as simply stunning.

Matured for 24 months in 2,500L Slavonian oak, with a small portion in barrique, this wine from the Rio Sordo MGA has a dark berry aroma lifted with hints of dried fruits, lavender and herbs. In the mouth it has a floral, wild strawberry character with a touch of mint and a streak of chocolate. Fresh acidity pinches the waist, and the finish features minty herbs, chocolate, red and black berries, and floral overtones. Delicious!
