Like many of my colleagues here at Bounty Hunter, I happened upon the wonderful world of wine by way of the restaurant business. I grew up in the California East Bay Area and got my start in the culinary world washing pot and pans at the age of 15. After falling in love with the fast pace of the kitchen, I completed a Culinary Arts and Management Program in the East Bay and and would spend over the next decade working my way up at several popular restaurants and clawing my way to the top. I worked for some amazing people, many who inspired me, and yet as time went on I began to feel restless. I began to wonder if it was really my true calling.
After some soul searching, about five years ago I left the drudgery of Chef life behind me and did something crazy at the time; I packed up and moved to Mendocino from the Bay Area and it changed everything. I was tremendously lucky to join the hospitality team at Roederer Estate in Anderson Valley—I was baptized by bubbles! There was so much to learn and wine awakened a passion in me that I didn’t even know was there. I drank in the knowledge of wine as I sipped on the bounty of Bacchus, and I have never looked back. I have found that my transition into the wine world has felt like a natural progression, as I very much enjoy connecting with people through a common interest in wine, and I take great joy in sharing my knowledge with others.
At the beginning of 2017 my wife and I decided to return to the Napa area with our dog and a few too many felines and are thrilled to call it home for the long run. After working at a few more wineries in different roles, I joined the Scout team at Bounty Hunter and I couldn’t be more excited. I would love to help you find your next wine that you enjoy more than the last.
