2021 Morlet Family Vineyards 'La Proportion Doree' White Blend Sonoma County
A harmonious blend of the three classic white Bordeaux varietals, this unique cuvée was inspired from the finest producers of Pessac-Léognan. The Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle come from dry-farmed vineyards in the Golden State’s Sonoma County. Beautifully intense with candied lemon, stone fruits, and honeysuckle. There is a grip to the wine adding to the body and light hints of beeswax and quince. This wine will age gracefully for 20 years.

The 2021 ‘La Proportion Dorée’ pours a bright yellow color and takes on another gear in the glass, cascading open with generous aromas of fresh currants, candle wax, jasmine, and a lift of white pepper spice. Medium to full-bodied, its structure offers fantastic definition, and it has a concentrated, rich texture, an even spine of acidity, and exceptional length. A stunning textural blend to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years. -

Potentially one of the most profound Sauvignon Blanc-based wines I have tasted from California, the 2021 ‘La Proportion Dorée’ boasts explosive aromas of cut grass, gooseberries, tangerines and pink grapefruit. A barrel-fermented—in previously used French oak—blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle, it's medium to full-bodied and lush, with enormous richness and concentration and a potent, lingering finish.
