2021 Gary Farrell 'Russian River Selection' Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
This gorgeous Pinot Noir opens with seductive aromas of cherry liquor, sweet tobacco, fresh fennel, rose petal and boysenberry preserves. The broad, youthful, tangy, yet complex palate offers juicy flavors of blood orange, sour cherry jam, tamarind, raspberry jerk sauce, with a hint of savory green plantains. The firm tannins and tangy acidity create a full-bodied texture, lending to the incredibly long, spicy finish.
Located along a ridge top amongst the native redwoods, oaks and madrones, Gary Farrell's winery is smack dab in the middle of the Russian River Valley and nestled into one of the most magical places on earth. The winery specializes in making some of the best Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Sonoma's most recognized regions. Their winery is immaculate and ideal for serious winemaking. An array of presses, sorting tables and temperature controlled tanks mean that they have the utmost control during fermentation and winemaking. But it's not enough to be technically perfect - these guys have committed themselves to cultivating relationships with growers, vendors and customers too. A wine crafted with integrity and honesty goes a long way to make friends, don't you agree?

Focused, pure red and black cherries infuse this wine with fruit intensity from the first whiff to the tangy, lip-smacking finish. Sour cherries, rhubarb, moderate tannins and bracing acidity all add to its tangy allure. Best from 2022–2032.

A jeweled ruby color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Selection is singing on opening, with gorgeous purity to its perfume of cherry cola, candied roses, and fresh pine. It’s medium-bodied, but it fills the palate with fine tannins, a rounded mid-palate, and even-keeled acidity, with all its components harmonious through a refreshing and clean finish. A fabulous appellation wine, it will be best enjoyed 2023-2030.
