2021 Beringer 'Knights Valley Reserve' Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County
The oft-overlooked secret weapon of the Beringer portfolio is the “KVR”. The cooler Knight’s Valley gives this wine a bright freshness. James Suckling gave this a monstrous 97 points!
“Very focused and concentrated with serious depth and length.” AND “Artful savory complexity”
Don’t miss out on this dark fruited melody blackberry and black cherries, lifted notes of violets and a bass of cedar and cigar box. But like the last echoes of a great concert, this will be gone before you know it.
Over the past 141 years, Beringer has built its name on quality and consistency. The oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley (they used a federal license during Prohibition that allowed them to make wine for religious purposes), they’ve been instrumental in both the development of Napa’s international reputation while simultaneously serving as a critical link to its past.
James Suckling
Lots of dark fruits with violets and peppery greens followed by cigar box, forest floor and graphite with cedar and dark chocolates. Wonderfully structured full-bodied wine. Very focused and concentrated with serious depth and length. Artful savory complexity to it. A blend of 80% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc, 4% petit verdot, 4% merlot and 2% malbec. Released in spring 2024. It already has a nice drinkability but will age gracefully. Drink or hold.
