2020 Morlet Family Vineyards 'Passionnément' Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Napa Valley
Crafted with the passion and the ongoing pursuit of quality, this judicious blend comes from the finest barrels of fruit from vineyards on the Oakville Bench and on the foothills of Knights Valley and St. Helena. The name is a dedication to Jodie Morlet “Je t’aime, un peu, beaucoup, passionnément!” (I love you, a little, a lot, passionately!) Notes of crème de cassis, plum, cedar and a hint of cigar box with a full-bodied palate and creamy texture. The luscious tannins, intense aromatic complexity and opulence create a flamboyant yet harmonious ensemble, leading to a very long, complex and smooth finish
Wine Advocate
Scents of ripe raspberries, dark chocolate and black cherries are joined by gentle floral notes on the nose, while the palate is supple and silky, finishing long and elegant, sculpted by soft, dusty tannins and mouthwatering freshness. From a vintage in which greatness was clearly achievable in rare instances, the 2020 ‘Passionnément’ is great.

The 2020 ‘Passionnément’ brings more sweetness of fruit and depth than just about any other wine I’ve tasted in the vintage. Cassis, darker currants, graphite, spicy oak, and some floral notes all define this full-bodied, deep, layered, textured 2020. If there’s a “wow” wine in 2020, this is it.
The Wine Independent
Notes of crème de cassis, black cherry preserves, and blackberry pie emerge from the glass, followed by a fragrant undercurrent of graphite, damp soil, and black olives. The palate is tightly knit with savory and mineral layers and a firm, grainy texture backed by just enough freshness. The 2020 ‘Passionnément’ finishes long and earthy.
